Kuchlbauer-Turm, Abensberg
(4.1/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web)
The surreal, multicolored observation tower, Kuchlbauer-Turm, graces the grounds of Abensberg 's Kuchlbauer Brewery. From the top of the gold-plated observation ball, Austrian architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser wanted to treat visitors to panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The organically shaped tower houses a collection of 4,200 Weissbier glasses, along with exhibits on the brewing process and the Bavarian Purity Law. • We were visiting this tower, which is located inside the brewery itself, as in Vienna, had visited another place made by the artist himself and we were amazed. We think if you're in the area go there!!! The ticket price includes the tour of the brewery with the Guide, who will explain the whole process to make this wonderful drink, a beer and a Pretzel, then you can dine in at reasonable prices. Good viaggiooooo

  • The brewery with the hundred water tower and the Kunsthaus is (free) sehenswert...besonders Tower Christmas very, if everything is beautifully lit and a beautiful Christmas market on the site. The tower can be visited only with guided Brewery tour (€12 incl beer + pretzel, or €18 Combi-ticket Kunsthaus). The leadership is not necessarily for a brewer interested! Anyone looking for that is here definitely out of place. There is only a glimpse of tws only on video. The bulk of the leadership enters rather on the backgrounds of the tower and on a fairy tale by the holder, which with dwarf is and is told. I could hide some very "corny"...die lucky. In the basement of the tower is the largest wheat beer glass collection in the world. And finally the highlight of the Tower! Finally, tasting in the tent (gift certificate) - the beers are consistently first class! Who wants to take a tour at the Weekend - be sure tour reservation and if possible not SA/so come - is going on delusion direction much.

  • Very lovingly designed plant, brewery and Museum of art and the famous Tower. For a moderate admission price, you get a very comprehensive and informative guide, after the climb of the really remarkable Tower BB´s as a reward is a wheat beer of your choice. Attract a worthwhile trip, also for children and also for the Christmas season, when the plant for the "Tower Christmas" really very detail-faithful is illuminated and some nice stalls with arts and crafts and mulled wine.

  • After the visit of the Hudertwasser Haus in Viena I was really wondering about his next buildings. So I really enjoyed that stop on the way from Munchen. Nice biergarten.
  • Brilliant trip round the brewery followed by a memorable trip up the tower and a beer in the Biergarten! Good value: great fun, and tasty variety of beers. Hat geschmeckt ☺
  • Artistic valuable place to visit. Landmark of Abensberg.
  • Muß man gesehen haben!
  • WHAT A MESS! €17 for a cheesy would-be Brewery tour with only a pretzel and a tiny beer! What is this please? Hundertwasser would erbosen that a beer tent is on a horizontal surface. Also, what are these electrically missionary dwarfs here! Full coffee ride! I am not pleased! The Guide has nothing but don't have anything to do with beer and Hundertwasser! The Museum is very nice and the beer tastes good.
