Brewery Food & Drink
The surreal, multicolored observation tower, Kuchlbauer-Turm, graces the grounds of Abensberg 's Kuchlbauer Brewery. From the top of the gold-plated observation ball, Austrian architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser wanted to treat visitors to panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The organically shaped tower houses a collection of 4,200 Weissbier glasses, along with exhibits on the brewing process and the Bavarian Purity Law. • I was worried I might be disappointed with this. It far from it. It is well worth the visit - you can even eat and drink in the beer garden it is situated in!  more »
  • It was an interesting experience but unfortunately the tour is only in German language. You can eat something if you, the food is delicious and the price are very Good.  more »
  • Not a single right angle in the whole tower. A place you have to go, and by that enjoy the brewery tour and a free beer afterwards. It is absolutely amazing.  more »

  • Nice place but expensive. You need to pay for the tour and then you are able to go inside the tower. No way to do the opposite. And honestly, for that cost, they could provide at least an small fresh sample. You get inclusive a brezzel and beer but in. The tour a fresh sample would make it better.
  • This place is whacky! The tower and brewery are designed by a famous Austrian artist (Hundertwasser) and the whole complex has his influence (including little dwarves speaking about how beer is made). The tour itself is a relatively standard brewery tour, but the environment is exceptionally unique, making the fresh Weiss beer at the end well worth it.
  • A must do for wheat beer lovers! Beautiful architecture and philosophy combined with a first-in-class brewery. They have guided tours explaining their history, brewing, Hundertwasser's philosophy and it is also entertaining for kids. Around Christmas time they also have their own Christkindlmarkt.
  • Pretty interesting story and cool design. Worth a trip if you are in the area but I wouldn't make a pilgrimage across the country to see it. The kuchlbauer brewery is a bonus and makes a nice selection of weizen.
  • Krazy and smart arhitekt..
