Kuchlbauer-Hundertwasser-Turm, Abensberg

4.3
The surreal, multicolored observation tower, Kuchlbauer-Hundertwasser-Turm, graces the grounds of Abensberg 's Kuchlbauer Brewery. From the top of the gold-plated observation ball, Austrian architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser wanted to treat visitors to panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The organically shaped tower houses a collection of 4,200 Weissbier glasses, along with exhibits on the brewing process and the Bavarian Purity Law. • Driven on a Saturday afternoon to the Christmas market to Abensberg. Traffic chaos pur. No parking near Christmas market. Parked in the old town in an area where you can't Park may, but also no one hinders. 3 Park inspectors patrol and issue fines. € 15 petty and embarrassing for Abensberg. OK, improperly parked. But not Touristenfreundlich. That's why in the next year without us. Food and drink high-priced and only average. Only Commerce. No thanks.

  • Spectacular Tower but in general the whole structure of this historic brewery. During the Christmas market and under the snow is even more magical!

  • The tower is unique and really worth a visit from that perspective. Regarding the actual tour, I took in in Bavarian and only know basic German so it was a bit of a challenge to understand anything. Overall still one of my best brewery visits given that the museum and tower are so special. Don't skip this if you are passing by!
  • Little town with big story and iconic tower. Be ready to make unforgettable memories.
  • Very special design to honor the parts that make the beer. The tour was very good showing the history of the site and construction of the tower. I was impressed with the collection of beer glasses in the keller. At the base pf the tower is a nice beer garden to sample the wonderful beers. A very nice day trip.
  • Any big fan of wheat beer should visit! The tours was good value for money and includes a beer! But the crazy styling and history of the place is what makes it magical. Great place for kids too!
  • Nice place but expensive. You need to pay for the tour and then you are able to go inside the tower. No way to do the opposite. And honestly, for that cost, they could provide at least an small fresh sample. You get inclusive a brezzel and beer but in. The tour a fresh sample would make it better.
