The Bridge of Peace, Tbilisi

4.4
A modern pedestrian thoroughfare, The Bridge of Peace hangs delicately over the Kura River and connects the old town to the modern. Designed to evoke the shape of peaceful marine mammals, the bridge provides convenient access from Rike Park to the old town. Stroll across the structure and pause in the middle to watch the river traffic passing below. In the evenings the bridge comes to life with an impressive light display made up of thousands of colored LED lights. • Now it has become one of the iconic landmarks of Tbilisi. Fun pass on it. Stand in the middle and admire the different species. Oh, and at night it brightly Shimmers, attracting the attention of tourists and cameras.

  • A convienently located bridge that has a very distinctive design that I think is nice although I read it mixes opinions with locals. It's very photogenic so you don't just need to walk across it. If you go up the hills it provides a great place to focus pictures of Tbilisi.
  • Nice bridge to walk on and reach the adjacent large garden/park coming from the city places
  • The Bridge of Peace is a bow-shaped pedestrian bridge, a steel and glass construction illuminated with numerous LEDs, over the Kura River in downtown Tbilisi, capital of Georgia.(wikipedia)
  • A nice bridge to walk through. Has a nice area with attractions surrounding it. Casino, singing fountain, boat sailing, cable car to go up to the mountain and many streets shows and attractions. Highly recommend for families with young children.
  • Awesome view. And the place is very attractive. River flowing below this bridge. Your mind will be refresh :) i love this place. Beside this bridge you will found garden, cable car ride connected with hill. Perfect name selection "The Bridge of Peace" :)

Where to stay in Tbilisi

Strung out alongside the Mtkvari River, Tbilisi's historical core and bustling city center offers an array of accommodation options. Choose the fortress hill, the more northern residential districts, or a main street in the center of the action. Large international chain hotels offer luxury options, complete with fine dining, air conditioning, and more. However, you can also choose from more economical, mid-level options located around Rustaveli Avenue and Tbilisi's old town. For the lowest cost, consider one of the ubiquitous hostels.
