The Pantheon of "sons of the motherland": writers, scientists, artists and prominent public figures in Georgia (total 48 graves) is located on the slope of Davidovoj mountain on Mount Mtatsminda. You can walk to the Pantheon to Rustaveli Avenue, but faster and more interesting only accessible by cable car. The lower station of the cable car is located at the foot of Mount mtatsminda, in about 15 minutes of turn and slide from Rustaveli Avenue. You can drive up and take bus number 90 or Metro 124 "Rustaveli Avenue" to get into the Pantheon, the need to get off at central station, which is called "Pantheon" and go down a bit, focusing on signs. Cable car fare is 2 gel, plus you have to buy 2 gel a special card. We bought one for two, but the number of users is unlimited. The truth behind every entrance to the funicular to pay. When, after inspection of the Pantheon we again benefited from the cable car to climb up to the end station on top, again had to pay. In the year 1829.

Here doing nothing, even the views of the city. Go only to Central funicular station to descend through the Pantheon is not exactly worth it. Perhaps the situation will save what you'll know something about those buried there, and it will be not only Griboyedov.

Some compliments here have retired to another world, and all the more great people! Near the Church of St. David is a pantheon of public figures, with each Tomb has its deeply symbolic gravestone. This place is worth a visit, but with a guide, or ask a local custodian.

Where to stay in Tbilisi

Strung out alongside the Mtkvari River, Tbilisi's historical core and bustling city center offers an array of accommodation options. Choose the fortress hill, the more northern residential districts, or a main street in the center of the action. Large international chain hotels offer luxury options, complete with fine dining, air conditioning, and more. However, you can also choose from more economical, mid-level options located around Rustaveli Avenue and Tbilisi's old town. For the lowest cost, consider one of the ubiquitous hostels.
