Soaring over the Mtkvari River and the rooftops of the old town, Aerial Tramway in Tbilisi provides a fun and fast way to get to and from Narikala Fortress and Rike Park. The tramway, opened in 2012, carries passengers in glass-sided, climate-controlled cars and offers unrivalled views of the town and its surrounds. Hop on the tram at Rike Park and avoid a long and difficult walk up to the fortress while gaining some memorable views of the town below you. Keep in mind that the tramway only takes metro travel cards; you cannot pay with cash. Purchase travel cards at the terminals. • If you want to make good shots, you have to climb to Narikala. Explore the ruins of the Castle. Pozyrit on Mother of Georgia. Act card common. transport in Tbilisi. The rate has been 2.50 gel in one end.

  • My opinion is that the cable must ride every tourist and day and night! Very nice views! Mesmerizing!

  • This is the best and quickest way to get up to see the Narikala fortress. The tram is inexpensive, but you need to check the timings before you go there, as the tram operates at certain hours. Make su...  more »

  • 2.5 GEL per person. For kids too. Any age. Huge queue. Ride for 3 minutes approx. to get to the top. I don't recommend for youth (use your legs people! ). For elderly people and for families with small kids will be perfect!
  • Go to the up of the city with a great experience. If you want to back down yourself (I recommended it) just pay for one way ticket.
  • Touristic but with a spectacular view. It cost almost nothing and even if in Sunday there was a long line, the service works fast. I bought the ticket for return also but the best way to go down is to walk on the street till the old city
  • In terms of getting up to the hilltop you don't need to get this cablecar as it's a pretty easy walk but it's still a cool journey up for what is pretty cheap. It's 2.5 and if you don't have metrocard it's 2 more. The journey up is about 3-4 minutes.
  • Good way to up, then you can go down by foot or fly to Botanic garden and then go down:)

Where to stay in Tbilisi

Strung out alongside the Mtkvari River, Tbilisi's historical core and bustling city center offers an array of accommodation options. Choose the fortress hill, the more northern residential districts, or a main street in the center of the action. Large international chain hotels offer luxury options, complete with fine dining, air conditioning, and more. However, you can also choose from more economical, mid-level options located around Rustaveli Avenue and Tbilisi's old town. For the lowest cost, consider one of the ubiquitous hostels.
