Gergeti Trinity Church, Stepantsminda

One of Georgia's most iconic sights, Gergeti Trinity Church sits on a mountain top surrounded by vast stretches of rolling hills and valleys. Depending on the season, it features only a few colors, from grass and sky, to snow and rugged cliffs in the background. Hike to the church or take a taxi to this remote spot, located at an elevation of 2,170 m (7,120 ft). Breathe the crisp mountain air and listen to the sounds of pristine nature. View the 14th-century red stone Orthodox church from up-close and snap photos of the majestic site. Be sure to dress comfortably for this rugged windy place. • Perfect site, from seeing him from the village down kazbg, a challenging 4 x 4 with the men, the Church itself behind a nice story about a place that always remains protected from authorities and thus saved the Church treasures here ortodochsit, but more than anything, in my view, the view from the top, overlooking the village below, the clouds from the middle of the mountain, on top of more experience and kazbegi, don't miss

  • Simply gorgeous views of the 5000m high Kazbek of a monastery located about 2500 m high. Who does not want to go up on foot, one takes the SUV taxis, which is also quite adventurous. Recommended is a trip with own car because road consists only of potholes.

  • 1 of the most iconic buildings in Georgia at least from a tourist point of view. It's a decent hike up. I really recommend walking up as reading the reviews from those who rented a vehicle it actually seems more comfortable. I highly recommend going early in the morning. I left my hostel at about 7am and got up to top around 8:15am and had it almost to myself but on the way down I passed dozens of people so really felt it was worth the early start.
  • Hike, hike, hike if your able. The views up past the old brick tower beyond gergeti are amazing on their own. Follow the orange arrows to the church. Weather changeable so bring layers along outside of summer.
  • We decided to hike up from Kazbegi and we're glad we did. It was steep but not very difficult at all. We rarely hike and we were able reach the church in about 2 hours... with lots of stops and photo op. You can also hire a jeep to go up but I think the view is better when hiking. Church is very nice too... view is topnotch!! Anybody visiting Georgia should at least make time for Kazbegi
  • The most beautiful structure I've had the pleasure of seeing. Absolutely breathtaking
  • The best place i think. It was really awesome. You should try with yourself
