New Athos Cave, New Athos

(4.6/5 based on 400+ reviews on the web)
New Athos Cave was known for many years simply as "bottomless pit." At approximately 1,000,000 cubic m (35,314,667 cubic ft), this cave system is a must for professional and amateur speleologists alike. The caves are made up of nine enormous chambers, each containing geological features including underground rivers and lakes, large stalactites and stalagmites, seemingly bottomless ravines, waterfalls, and oddly shaped deposits. For the protection and preservation of the cave, you'll use a railway that takes you to three stops, where you can get out and travel along walkways to take in the sights. Wear shoes with a good grip and a jacket, as it can be cold in the caves. Use our New Athos itinerary planner to arrange your visit to New Athos Cave and other attractions in New Athos.

  • For several years, try to visit all sorts of underground constructions, collectors, caves ... And, of course, when it was suggested to visit the new athon, immediately agreed. Actually, because of them, mostly, and traveled to Abkhazia (no offense). Yes, enormously. Epic ... Such a scale not seen anywhere else. How thrilling..... Only one train (a-la Metro), which carries to the place of beginning of excursions is fascinating ... The only thing slightly confused, so this is a pretty large number of people in a single group and guide, respectively. Excursion planned competently, then you and the music and lights, and the story itself is interesting enough (at one point even offering to sing)))). But when around people sixty ... Those not yet reached, these have already gone on the "Gallery" not always hear exactly the guide tells about anything .... I am convinced that, if slightly reduce the number of tourists, at least one third will be better. But this is my subjective opinion. And so forth in the cave!

  • Cave really is very impressive in its scale, she is awesome, its beautiful. In the first Hall struck an underground lake that not even immediately turns to see: at first it seems that it's just the abyss, and then you realize that this is water. Amaze people who constantly try to snap off some stalactite (men, why is it you? homes in the best case on the shelf was stored?). On output, a very beautiful waterfall of stalactites, really, as from a fairy tale. A lot of people, if you do not like to go slowly and stand for long, try to go ahead immediately behind the Guide. Very cool! The most comfortable jeans and a warm sweater or jacket (especially if the summer after Delta with heat in the cold at first, good, but then the tooth to tooth misses). And necessarily comfortable shoes: humid places small puddles and mud, slippery. Interesting trailers, we tried to get into the final, so that you can watch udaljajushhujusja cave on the way to the surface. The right to photograph the purchase makes no sense: nobody requests permit inside, and besides in the cave the fog, in such circumstances, it is necessary to be able to shoot, and yes there is such special landscapes, at the background of which there will be some special photo, is that unless you're a passionate lover of caves.

  • The excursion was wonderful! Great guide! Marred her endlessly crying baby 2 years old ... Don't understand parents who dragged him there. Dear young parents! If your child is less than 5-6 years (and even at that age he can not understand energy dungeons), the caves of doing nothing! Hear you finally is!
