  • This visit proved to be laborious and hard-earned. The monastery is located uphill and the walk up there is no mean feat for many people. There is a very handy and affordable bus ride to the monastery...  more »
  • Best views from Nekresi, Amazing place to be with unforgettable view. Fantastic autobus driver which bring tourists up to monastery.  more »
  • You need to park below and take a 4wd bus up to the monastery itself. This runs every 15-20 minutes. The monastery itself is spectacular with great views too. A guide improves the experience.  more »

  • After the torture of the 1.5km walk up the road, you can enjoy the stunning views of the valley below and the great architecture of the buildings all beautifully restored. The church has some remnants of the original frescos, but they are very difficult to view in the very dark church. No photos allowed inside. We copped a bit of rain and sleet so the low cloud affected the view somewhat. Good exercise and fresh air!
  • Small church from IV. century maybe does not looks like much, but one can really feel the history here. The monastery is a peaceful place with great view over the Alazani valley. The bus drive up and down the hill is an experience on it's own.
  • most beautiful views from here
  • Not much to see regarding the churches, but the views are mesmerising!
  • Amazing place to be with unforgettable view
