  • Gremi Kakheti-business card, across Georgia competes with the Ananuri Castle's most famous glory for the country. The ancient capital of Kakheti, the town of Gremi, was completely destroyed by the Persian Shah Abbas: only one Church of the archangels. Gremi is located so that any machine from Telavi, kvareli inevitably passes under lock and key. It is well visible and confused with something difficult. In the Church are buried the great martyr Ketevan and King Levan (apart from his wife Tinatin that after divorce, buried in neighbouring new Shuamte). Tomb of the King in the corner to the right of the entrance to the Church is no marked. Over it among the frescoes will find the image of Levan with a model of the Church in his hands. You may be able to see the murals graffiti that nacarapali Russian soldiers in the 19th century, when the accession of Georgia, and traces of the copies that darted into the faces of the Saints the Persians. In the Museum at the monastery to watch nothing because most of the exhibits were taken in Sighnaghi, but tickets cost buy at least to climb the tower and see in it a medieval toilet.

  • 16-century Royal residence. Few have survived, but curious. Went to the Museum, there is preserved the Royal toilet! Toilet seat with derived outside ceramic pipe-sewers. Worth a look. Upstairs a good panorama of the surrounding area. And indeed the overall appearance of the fortress is impressive!

  • The monastery has a unique architecture and building materials that makes it easy to distinguish from other churches. Amazing!
  • Beautifully restored church and castle complex. Well worth a visit for the architecture and scenery alone. A small donation of 3Gel to climb the castle was worth it.
  • One of the most beautiful castles in Georgia. Once the capital of Kakhetian Kingdom, now you can see only the Archangels church and the Kings palace and some ruins in the valley surrounding that, that can give an idea of the size that Gremi city used to have. Entrance free, museum 3 lari
  • Imitom rom hemi someplace
  • It's just an Orthodox Church on the hill. Here's no spectacular view and rests of big abandoned city are invisible or unavailable. If you've seen other Georgian churches this one looks similar.
