  • I seemed one of those monasteries more recommended and essential in the visit to this country. I'd like to return.

  • All: a wonderful autumn coincided weather (I was at the beginning of November, caressing sun shone), local harvest of fruits and nuts (on the territory of the monastery grow several stately walnut trees), fertile atmosphere. .. The monastery really ancient, first built belong to the 9th century. And what's most amazing, some of these buildings, in particular, hospital, survived in its original form. But most of all struck by the frescoes inside the Temple of David the Builder: amazing paint and sophisticated faces of angels and archangels, Virgin and Saviour.. The temperature inside the temple remains the same year-round, this explains the high safety of painting.

  • We were at the beginning of December, at the same time it rained, because the visit was short. But because there are no other visitors we managed to feel the power of this place. Especially shaken main Cathedral. Colossal! When I stayed there quite alone with stunning mosaics on the walls in the semi-darkness of the passing day, only monk lights at the pulpit .... just crawl back from feeling the energy and grandeur of the place. Strongly recommend to visit, but it is recommended that you choose a time when there will be a minimum of people.
