  • A must-have for those who are just around Kutaisi. The Gelati monastery is definitely one of the most amazing and breathtaking in the entire country, and we feel very lucky to have seen him in the snow. Truly magical. A taxi from the bus station of the city, just outside the city centre, it cost 25 lari, stopping also at Motsameta monastery. The street was very impractical, completely covered by snow, and our taxi driver has the reward! If you wish, and in better shape, I think we could drop to 20 lari;) good luck! Bagrati can be reached very easily from downtown, crossing the river and a very quaint neighborhood.

  • A majestic Cathedral, once included in the UNESCO heritage, and then deprived of that status for construction work, have distorted historical appearance. The Cathedral is good as when the light of day and in the evening, when his cover dozens of lights. Inside the awesome list is stored with the shroud of Turin (one of three in the world).

  • Georgia is an amazing country. And the people inhabiting this paradise on earth-not less than surprising. About the country and people can write and talk a lot and for a long time. But! This single story, as they say. In Kutaisi, Imereti, located within the city limits of Bagrati Cathedral, imagine 1000 years. This magnificent temple was built at a time when Russia only became Christian. I.e., the Russians were still Pagans, had no concept of Christianity, and the Georgians built such cathedrals. (who do not know, let me remind you that Georgians are Orthodox Christians.) Construction of Bagrati Cathedral, named after Bagrat III, the first King of United Georgia. In General, the Cathedral had not only spiritual purpose, but is also seen as a symbol of the United Georgian people. There are 16-year-old explained: David the Builder was crowned there 900 years ago. Who would have imagined that this young man is able to unite Georgia. This is the reason why the Bagrati Cathedral became attractive and expensive prayer place for the whole of Georgia. During religious holidays here crowded. The Hill offers spectacular views to the Imeretinskuju Valley and the entire city. The Cathedral is one of the finest examples of late medieval architecture, and is a world heritage site, included in the UNESCO list. Advise everyone to visit the Cathedral and pray.
