Water Body
Nestled in the Caucasus in the disputed territory of Abkhazia, Lake Rica offers a tranquil space to explore. The lake, which is fed by six rivers, has a mysterious air about it that has inspired local legends. One such tale tells that the lake was once a river valley that was caused to fill with water by a sword thrown in an attempt to rescue Ritsa, a girl of the valley. Head out onto the lake and take in the views of the forest, which covers the mountains to the water's edge. Swim in the deep blue lake or fish for trout, which are abundant within the lake and river systems. With our custom trip planner, Gagra attractions like Lake Rica can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • At the end of March, Abkhazia redolent blossoms of trees and shrubs, blooming bright Cercis and Forsythia, in the mountains of gentle snowdrops, cyclamen, Primula. Already warm enough, and sometimes even hot. But the closer you approach to Lake Ritsa, the stronger you feel spring change back to winter. In contrast to the summer season, when the Ritsa is buried in lush vegetation of mountain forests, at the end of March, the Lake is surrounded by snow more than a meter in height, the surrounding mountains are covered with white snow caps from the foothills to the peaks. Mirror Lake is dark, chilling, but it has its own appeal of the surrounding white mountains-isploliny going vershinymi in a bright blue sky, give it greater scope and grandeur. Colours of nature cold, contrasting, but this gives the Lake even more splendor.

  • The road to Ritsa very picturesque, there is a café with fresh pancakes, waterfalls. Enter the relic Park surcharge-300 r, if I am not mistaken. Came, the car parked in the space provided (there with this strongly). Kebabs, meal took photos by the water and went to camping, there are pointers. The water is very cold after hot road is refreshing. The place itself is fascinating: mountain and Emerald Lake mountains drowning in the clouds.

  • One of the main attractions of Abkhazia-Lake ritsa, where you can easily find finished the tour. But apart from the lake itself, many beauties on the road to the Lake! My husband and I took a personal tour and were able to appreciate the beauty of a dozen places on the way. Stayed in the samshitovom forest, photographed in the meadows with snowdrops, umylis' in waterfalls "male" and "female tears tears" coming down on stone boulders to a mountain river, listened to various legends on the lookout "farewell to motherland". Therefore, I advise you to not just get to the main sights, but also show dozens of interesting places on the way. Usually standard excursion: Blue Lake and Lake ritsa. Very recommend!
