The Batumi Mosque (Georgian: ბათუმის მეჩეთი, batumis mecheti, orta jame) is a mosque in Batumi, Adjara, Georgia, which is a home to a sizable Muslim community. It was commissioned by the family of Aslan Beg (the equivalent of duke) Khimshiashvili, a Muslim Georgian nobleman in 1886. The walls of the mosque were painted by the Laz brothers. The mosque is popularly known as the "Jamia in the middle" ("ორთა ჯამე", orta jame) for it once stood in between two other mosques which have not survived.Put Mosque Batumi into our Batumi road trip website to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Batumi.

It's kind of pointless to go there since there is no information given and women aren't allowed to go in (just a small corner from which you can't see anything). So not a place for tourists. It is a nice mosque though.
Biggest in Batumi and Jumaa prayer is good. Toilets need to be more cleaned and improved
Beautiful old mosque with amazing colourful interior made on old Turkish style. Gets very packed for Friday prayers so come early.
