Running between the Black Sea and the city, Batumi Boulevard offers a place for relaxation and socialization amid the beauty of gardens and the sea. Begun in 1881 and originally spanning just the length of the city's old town, the boulevard was the brainchild of A.I. Smekalov, Batumi's then governor. Smekalov hired renowned German garden designer Reseller to create a strip of beauty for the city beside the sea. Now encompassing 7 km (4.3 mi), the boulevard offers a place to cycle (you can rent a bike) or walk. Explore the gardens and stop in at one of the many restaurants and cafes. Of special interest are the dancing fountains, which were built in 1977. Lovely and amazing, well done and secure. Quite a few stray dogs and some people wishing to sell you stuff for around 5 x value - but as long as you keep smiling and tell kindly no - that's enough. Great 4 kids
Very nice place, a lot of things to do and very nice people around
Batumi Avenue or the playing fountains. A place where you can listen to music from the 80s and watch a water show for free. The fountains are huge maybe they are not colored but the mere fact that there is room for a large amount of people to stand and photograph and being in the moment is what makes it crazy. I was there night after night for the calm. One of the places that must be in Batumi.
Touristic passage along the sea...nice in the evening, if you like loud live cover music and touristic crowds around you. You can enjoy the illuminated skyline of casinos and the ferris wheel. You can have that all together while also taking a swim in the black sea...not my style , but a special experience :)
Nice place for relaxing, clean area with beautiful gardens!
