  • Fortress rebuilt not long ago, but everything was very good, informative for the history of the region.

  • In 200 km from Tbilisi is located in Akhaltsikhe, which is famous for its fortress of Rabat (12 century). The truth is famous for tourists visiting and she became after the restoration of the 2011 year. The name Rabat fortress is derived from the Arabic "Al-Ribat, a fortified monastery". It is the largest preserved fortresses in Georgia and, without a doubt, the most restored. 7 hectares of its territory is divided into lower and upper parts. * Lower-a more modern, open coffee, entrance is free. Here you will find: restaurant, hotel, ZAGS, wine shop, café, the tourist information Office. * The upper part of history (entrance fee), includes: Historical Museum, Castle, Church, Mosque, gazebo and fountain, cloister, a small garden maze. From the Tower of the castle of beautiful panorama of the city of Akhaltsikhe, and views of the fortress itself.

  • The Castle impresses with its size and wealth of architectural styles, particularly interesting are the Ottoman influence. It was restored and thus devoid of charm, the work done are pretty blocky. Definitely would not recommend to come here specifically to visit the Castle, when there are so many great places and sights to visit in Georgia. Might be a good idea for a trip with children.

  • Well renovated. Worth visiting as the example of a complex Georgian history compiled in the architecture. There are shops, museums, cafes and restaurants within the castle walls. Dogs friendly staff.
  • This is nice place that is good for 1-2 hours. I visited on a very hot afternoon but thanks to all the towers you can go to cooler shaded off areas which feels lovely. I visited on a Monday and unfortunately that is the 1 day the museum is closed.
  • After recent renovation, it becomes a park. Not very interesting, but it offers an awesome panoramic view of the town.
  • Very interesting castle complex with lots to see. Only drawback is the lack of written information about the place. If you don't get an audio guide, you don't get much info on your own.
  • Great castle. You filing like king
