  • My wife and I love our wildlife be it birds or 4 legged animals. The guide from our lodge took us here for the morning. We visited the large hide and got some great sightings. There is a shop where yo...  more »
  • We have been here with our guide Baxs: A nice walk through a jungle trail to the central part with a few monkeys and hyena's in cages and a stand with African carvings. Seen a few monkeys on the way. It struck us a little bit, perhaps we were there at the wrong time.

  • I visited Abuko after I had made the beautiful canoe trip through the mangroves at Lamin Lodge. It was already 11 hours past, the sun was already high, so high temperatures and very hard light. I was going to photograph the local bird splendor, but given the hot moment of the day I literally saw 2 dovetailed bijeneters, a couple of lily runners and a Squacco heron. In summary: My schedule and timing was very To see the many beautiful pictures on various internet-nature forums is Abuko phenomenally beautiful. I will try it again at my next visit to the Gambia.

  • Just a walk in a jungle that is close to the street, no crocodiles, some bird, many monkeys, with our guide saying things like “that’s a tree”, “that’s a monkey”... ok is a nice walk in the nature but nothing more, and it ends with the saddest zoo I’ve ever seen
  • Beautiful place. Fanta, our guide was very nice and helpful. We learnt a lot! 😍
  • A really beautiful reserve that does really important conservation work. Do rent binoculars and do get a guide to take you round. Make sure you ask lots of questions, once our guide gave up on his set schpeel his passion for his work shone through. The reserve includes one of the last patches of Gambian rainforest. Gambian rainforests are different because the water comes from the ground. Stepping into this section was like stepping into a shower it was so much cooler. Monkeys followed us round but we're polite enough not to steal any snacks.
  • We had no guide and because it is a large park, is walking with small children is not convenient. So only the Center with hyenas visited. This and probably the whole park has what maintenance is required ...
