  • The hike to win the top of Mount Tapioi is easy: an hour's climb about: plan to get there early, because it's very hot in the morning, even if the sky is cloudy... Besides, the climb seems rough under the Sun! But it is interesting, since it allows to discover the endemic species of the island of Raiatea. To find the direction, go Urutoa Center in the direction of the force. Take the road that headed the mountain just before the mounted police, then 1st right and then, it is indicated. We're going through a farm (not to fear the huge 2 bulls who graze cows in the middle of the path) and then you climb! The climb is worth it: a beautiful landscape of Raiarea at Borabora... Islands on the sea and surrounded by different circles of 3 or 4 blue, from light blue to the Navy, through the turquoise and green water... a real splendor! I had never seen such a sight in my (already) long life! We went back down to the village in a half hour. We strongly recommend this hike, which the Summit is part of the most beautiful views of Polynesia.
