The Water Gardens of Vaipahi, Taravao

#2 of 13 in Parks in Tahiti
Take a pleasant stroll through The Water Gardens of Vaipahi, an immaculate public park. Spot, sniff, and photograph over 75 different species of plants that surround the water features of this well-maintained garden, which stretches just over a hectare (2.5 acres). Have a picnic at the foot of the waterfall, head to the souvenir shop to pick up a memento, and read the informational sheet to learn about the history of the park, built on the site of a "marae" (sacred temple). While you can tour the attraction in a relatively short amount to time, several hiking routes starting from here let you extend your visit. Onsite restrooms and a shelter for shade make this a convenient and comfortable place. • Very pleasant to walk under the big trees and in the middle of the flowers and ponds. Species are well signposted and explained, what constitutes a very informative ballad. Possibility of extend by a sportier hike up point of view.

  • Very neat gardens with some hiking trails, plus it's free. Great for a relaxing walk or a solid hike. Can be muddy if it rained recently.
  • Small public garden with waterfall. Quick stop, with restrooms. Locals selling fruits. Not much here, ,30 mins Max to see it all.
  • Paradise.
  • Beautiful place to discover, in family or between friends. The flora and fauna are vast and you learn a lot of thing. A beautiful waterfall to admire, bridges to go, fish to contemplate a hike at the top of the Hill and a small snack at the beginning with local products for sale. Small flat on algae that grow in proliferation, one has the impression that the site is not maintained often, what a pity! Otherwise it's a nice place to walk and relax.
