Jardin de Corail, Tahaa

(4.8/5 based on 95+ reviews on the web)
Plunge into the bright blue waters at Jardin de Corail for stunning sights of French Polynesia's famous marine life. The coral forms deep canyons, between which swim schools of brightly colored tropical fish. A great place for amateur snorkelers and all nature lovers, this garden of the sea offers an immense natural diversity, and the crisp, clear waters provide great visibility for photography. Be sure to take reef shoes with you as the coral here can hurt the soles of your feet. Add Jardin de Corail and other attractions to your Patio trip itinerary using our Patio itinerary planner.

  • Take a kayak if you can, it's less expensive and more authentic to cross the lagoon. The coral garden lies between two motus and is powered by offshore. Back up the trail and arrived at the end, where the ocean crashes on reefs, get started in the current and let down you to the calm waters... then, let yourself go. Watch out for sunburn.

  • We were guided by our host through this magnificent coral garden, full of multicoloured fish and sea life! We spent around 2 hours which seemed so much less time than it was, we enjoyed it so much! No...  more »
  • We were in kayak from the Perle of Tahaa. The garden of coral is opposite the Hotel Le Tahaa Island Resort & Spa. You'll surely see some boat. All the tours pass by there. We leave the kayak in the Middle Island and walk until the end. There are going to see the ocean with the breaker. We waded in the water and guauuuuu, all the colorful fish you come, the water is crystal clear. And there you let yourself carried away by the current, eye that is strong on some sides. Dyeing care not to touch the coral and not to hurt you. We saw schools of fish that swam with us, all the fish that one could imagine, up to a shark of corals, which then told us that they were harmless. But we scared a little. We went back out and we walked up to the tip, as well as 5 times. Actually you can spend all the day there! The time flies without realizing. It was the best of our incredible journey. Don't forget water shoes, and a neoprene shirt if you have, because you're too long with your back to the Sun. Safety pin!
