Trou du Souffleur de Arahoho, Papeete

(2.8/5 based on 260+ reviews on the web)
Get splashed by the waves at Trou du Souffleur de Arahoho, a strange geological highlight of Tahiti's coast. Long ago, liquid lava cut a tunnel through the volcanic rock of the coast here, which now allows seawater into its confined space. When a wave comes in, it gets trapped and is forced up and out through the "blowhole," spraying the surrounding area and looking much like a volcanic geyser. Stand on the viewing platform and get covered in the warm seawater as you snap photos of the impressive and unusual natural spectacle. Note that the attraction remains closed until early 2016. Put Trou du Souffleur de Arahoho and other Papeete attractions into our Papeete tour planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • The hole of the blower is as West coast where there are also 3 waterfalls. A quick easy access stop and just be guided by the rumble of the blower. To read the legend of the hole of the blower that is located at the entrance and do this visit as a stop in the course of the West Coast.

  • The hole of the blower has been set up to enable all approaching, it is a residue of lavatube which according to the State of the sea allows to attend a nice breath power and sometimes noisy phenomenon that comes out of the bottom from the bowels of the Earth. The sea view is very nice and sometimes a young surfing on the wave that goes into this little Bay with a beach of black sand pretty enough. If you approach the railing and you look at the rocks that slope down to the Sea you will see animals which are out of the ordinary, I let you discover them, an explanation is given on panels in the vicinity of the hole of the blower. The Ballad may continue with a visit to the only one of the 3 accessible cascades for now, for this you take the direction of tiara and on your right you have a road that starts on the mountain side, the waterfall is indicated, you drive small 1 km and you arrive on a large parking lot or is generally a local fruit vendor who seems to secure this peaceful places , access is laid out and accessible to all, even in wet weather. The waterfall is beautiful, it can make nice pictures as a couple or as a family. Ideally it would be to arrive before one because tourists don't end up in the crowd. Good ride.
