Where to stay in Moorea
On Mo'orea, even the budget accommodations enjoy prime beachfront locations on beautiful turquoise lagoons. Camping is the most affordable option, mainly concentrated in the northwest of the island. Family-run pensions (boarding houses) can also offer great, no-frills, budget-friendly lodging--although finding contact details and booking can take a little effort. The biggest draw on Mo'orea, however, remain the luxury beach resorts and overwater bungalows on the lagoons, mostly strung across the island's northern edge. Prices for these start in the mid range, but climb quickly into the high end for the most lavish options.
