Kourou River, Kourou

(2.6/5 based on 20+ reviews on the web)
Flowing farther than the eye can see, Kourou River pours out in the Atlantic Ocean. The river's brown, muddy waters give it a striking resemblance to the Amazon River. The many fish species living beneath the water's surface remain an important part of the local diet. Set off in a traditional log canoe called pirogue for a chance to appreciate the river and effortlessly snap a few memorable photos. • Big River with a very murky and brownish water flows into the ocean, which is absolutely not pulling a dip. I wonder will only see the rainforest along the coast and admire the birds from the boat.

  • Several local operators offer trips on the river and it's just great and very well organized. We're taking you to canoe discover the Kourou River and you're welcome in beautiful shelters you can enjoy various activities such as canoeing, paddle, the tirolaise... You will sleep in a hammock or bed according to your choice and you will eat there very well. I particularly recommend the CARIACOU camp that offers rides in the forest and initiations to weaving or fishing, WAPA LODGE or you can also get a massage in a beautiful setting in the forest and the CANOPY camp or you can admire the canopy and zip-lining in the jungle. There are lot of info on the site getaway Carbet. Welcome in French Guiana and enjoy your stay!
