Kourou River, Kourou
(2.5/5 based on 20 reviews on the web)
Flowing farther than the eye can see, Kourou River pours out in the Atlantic Ocean. The river's brown, muddy waters give it a striking resemblance to the Amazon River. The many fish species living beneath the water's surface remain an important part of the local diet. Set off in a traditional log canoe called pirogue for a chance to appreciate the river and effortlessly snap a few memorable photos. • Big River with a very murky and brownish water flows into the ocean, which is absolutely not pulling a dip. I wonder will only see the rainforest along the coast and admire the birds from the boat.

  • Several local operators offer trips on the river and it is just awesome and very well organized. It takes you in the dugout discover the Kourou River and it welcomes in magnificent carbets or guests can enjoy various activities such as canoeing, paddle, the Tyrolean... You will sleep in hammocks or bed, depending on your choice and you will eat very well. I particularly recommend the camp CARIACOU offering walks in the forest and initiations to weaving or fishing, WAPA LODGE, you can also get massaged in a beautiful setting in the forest and camp CANOPY, or admire the canopy and do the Zipline in the jungle. There are quite a lot of info on the site getaway Carbet. Welcome to French Guiana and enjoy your stay!
