Marshes of Caw, Cayenne

(4.5/5 based on 190+ reviews on the web)
Hike or take a guided boat tour of Marshes of Caw to see a diverse range of bird and animal life, from snakes and caiman to capybara. Tours of the marshes happen day and night, in search of caiman and a glimpse of the rare and colorful Andean cock-of-the-rock. You can also take independent hikes on the jungle trails through bamboo forests and swamps, spotting poison dart frogs and monkeys. Consider extending your stay overnight at the floating lodge, where you can eat, sleep, and set out again in the morning. • JAL travel: promises are not kept: capture of a small caiman of 30 cms, which passes from hand to hand to be photographed (poor thing), one only large caiman near the lodge, baited by the staff... No cabias, out of two hours the night nothing see... We're fun tourists barreling into the grass with the canoe, looking for the ghosts Cayman... Insufficient food (loading of 10 more people than expected) waking in the morning to the sound of the toilet (we booked the room), and too much noise in general to live a back to nature guide familiar wildlife and birds, only positive with the beauty of the place, but is very expensive for this service

  • If you do not pass a night in a lodge in the swamps of kaw you n visited Guyana. One night in an eco-lodge. We're leaving in a pirogue see caimans in their natural environment. And this place and a unique reserve for wildlife than the flora. Very few mosquitoes. Hut with hammocks or beds. A must see.
