  • Home-like atmosphere of the Museum will take you to France, where it is now and you will not find. Employees of this wonderful place greeted us with sincere smiles and happily in a small cinema where we watched a film-history of your favorite cheese Camembert. Then these same aunt invited us to try the local cheese and cider, cooked, of course, on an ancient recipe of these places. The exposition of the Museum is small, but also home and clear, we saw the whole process of preparation of Camembert. And even learned what the icon is placed on the label of cheese when he cooked in their homeland, in Vimut′ë!

  • During our trip in Normandy, it was important to get to know the cheese Camembert and then we visited Vimoutiers, among others, to see the statue, which shows the woman behind the famous cheese-Marie Harel. This is the statue # 2 because the first was damaged during World War II.

  • In order to taste the cheese born in this city we are asked to watch a movie in French on how it is produced, and then what we taste is not what we know as Camembert cheese. They explain that what you find elsewhere is of industrial production, but they lack credibility. At least we get some laughs at the situation paraddosale

  • It is Normand, it is greedy, it is charming! And FYI: the Museum is open from 1 April to 31 October: Thursday to Monday afternoon from 14 h to 17 h 30. Closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. "The Museum is intended to enhance the cheese traditions and focuses on the value of the ancient heritage. He defends the PDO (protected designation of origin) camembert. It also has a collection of about 3 000 labels of boxes of camembert and an exhibition on Charlotte Corday. "
