  • Magnificent panorama on the Rhône and the Palace of the Popes. Fortress made of ramparts identifying l Abbey St André and the remains of the old village of Villeneuve.

  • Sober, quiet, nice loaded walk of history come to mind after returning from the visit. Go on a sunny day because a very large part of the tour is outdoors, and it's well ventilated! It is a place to see which fits into an overall visit Avignon and Villeneuve. If you only visit this fort you may be disappointed. This visit is part of a "avignonesque", the Tower of Philippe the beautiful journey, the Fort St André and Chartreuse are to visit before crossing the Rhone to go to the Palace of the popes, and discover all the historic Avignon. Sincerely Didier

  • Apart from a point of view, the site offers nothing else ruins... the roads are in a deplorable state, some maintenance wouldn't be superfluous (regarding the green spaces)... tours, explanations on historically very poor paper. The price is far too high for the service provided... no control of tickets at the entrance, a small portal to push...

  • It's a good place to walk around the Avinon. You can see the view of the city as well.
  • Atmospheric fortress overlooking the city of Avignon. Could do with better interpretive materials to help explore but still a worthwhile visit. The paths are mainly unpaved so wear decent walking shoes.
  • The Fort is a nice visit; I prefer it to the Abbey.
  • The castle is also see better from the outside than from the inside. We have not visited the Abbey located in the course. But otherwise, the castle is only interest in my view, the landscape. It dominates the entire Valley and it's really a nice panorama. Pity about the lack of info.
