Chateau de Puyguilhem, Villars

Built in the 16th century, Chateau de Puyguilhem sits on the edge of a forest, with an open meadow in front.

The architectural style of the castle is very similar to those in the Loire Valley. It is partly Renaissance and partly medieval.

Inside the castle, you can see an impressive collection of furniture and tapestries. Outside you will find that the grounds have been faithfully restored to their former glory. • Beautiful castle which is narrated by a guide who knows his story on the tip of the fingers and in perfect diction. (in fact... in fact... is not part of his vocabulary and so much the better). See an interesting Dovecote at the rear of the Castle. All in a beautiful green setting. A must see.

  • Powerful looking chateau perched on a stunning ridge. A lovely village for a stop too!
  • Beautiful castle for a small entrance fee. Unfortunately only French-speaking tour, but you could also just look around with a Dutch-speaking directory itself.

  • A "chateau de chasse" beautiful. It is a national monument, and is managed by the French State. It is renovated and well maintained. It is the 16th century in the time of Francisco I. The people serving the Castle do with great dedication and detail. Note that you like her. One of the people, knew perfectly English. Although played to us a guide who spoke English and French. To tell him that we knew the French with limitations, he made guided speaking more slowly and more, pronouncing with what we learn practically everything. Some very caring people. It is worth visiting it for everything you said, and also because it has architectural samples with different influences, according to the architects who participated.
