Domaine Dupont, Victot-Pontfol
(4.5/5 based on 30+ reviews on the web)
For more than 25 years now, Domaine Dupont has resolutely followed a path towards high quality cider. You can visit and explore this estate and its connecting orchards in one fascinating trip. Discover everything from the process of creating cider to how to choose the best apples for the job.

By drawing on the best techniques used to make cognac and its blends, Etienne Dupont has refined his cellar work to reach the same levels of elegance and expressiveness as found in the best wines. Some of these techniques, such as manual sorting of the apples and even working with an oenologist, are found only very rarely in the making of cider.

All the Domaine Dupont ciders carry a vintage date. This choice of dating the ciders allows you to see the difference between the years to be highlighted and to follow for their evolution over time. Cider can be tasted just like wine and deserves the same respect and attention as wine. • Congratulations to Matthew for his professionalism, enthusiasm and dynamism... probably in the image of this family of entrepreneur/producer. Bravo to the know-how of our terroirs and l French excellence whose domain Dupont is a true representative.

  • Very rewarding visit! Both the adults and children (from 7-8 years). Explanations very clear, followed by a tasting of their products, all in a warm and friendly atmosphere!

  • I am a cider maker and company owner in Canada. This is by far the best cidery we tried in the Pays d'Auge region. Absolutely fantastic cidre, pommeau and calvados. The staff are extreamly knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended.
  • Family run estate that's open daily for visitors, no appointments necessary. There is a daily tour available in English at 3pm (small cost, approx 4 euros). The tour takes you though the orchard with a taste of various apples and a brief history of Dupont's estate. After the vineyard, you'll see the VAT-room, barrel room, and finally the tasting room. You can taste an array of liquid from juice, cider, pommeu, or calvados. The prices are reasonable and slightly cheaper than market price. It was a great experience vising this estate and tasting some lovely apple products! PS their Pommeu was better than the other ones I've tasted for the day and they use older calvados; better quality overall!
  • Nice People. Possible to taste ciders and calvados. And they are Excellent.
