Take a peek into Marie Antoinette’s favorite places to get away from the pomp of Versailles at The Trianons & The Hamlet. Walk across the gardens or ride the petit train to reach the Grand Trianon decked out in pink marble. The Petit Trianon and the surrounding park reflect the queen's eclectic, free-thinking nature through their rural, rustic surroundings. Inside The Petit Trianon, see her modest bedchamber and simple furnishings. At Le Hameau (Hamlet), survey the ill-fated queen's retreat overlooking Grand Trianon Lake, where the environment stands in stark contrast to the formal gardens at Versailles. • Different stations of Versailles can access by bus for the price of a regular ticket from April 1 to October 30 (bus SORT) and it is too little! Sumptuously furnished furniture, Directoire and Empire rooms, garden open during the same hours as the Trianon: at noon only, empty during the week, wonderfully ornate: a dream out of time!

  • A high place of the French royalty. Beautiful place that we left Louis XIV, the memory of the Queen Marie Antoinette is felt everywhere, is expected to see emerge.

  • Smaller, less crowded, the two Trianons are very pleasant to visit. I have a preference for the Grand Trianon, which was occupied by the Royal but also handed favourites in vogue by de Gaulle who made a presidential residence of prestige. As the Queen's Hamlet, when the rehabilitation works of the Queen's House will be finished, this is really worth getting there, it's quite charming and relaxing after the crowd and gilding of the Castle!
