  • This channel through which can be seen from the Palace of Versailles and which if you go from this to the Trianon will have to skirt, is part of the Park public where you will find Cafes, restaurants and restrooms if you have enough time, my spouse and I did already that we devote all day to Versailles, rent a rowing boat to stroll through this great channel, they rent them for a time and charge you at the end, the only thing is that the paddles are not very comfortable but is an unforgettable experience, it is also a place to sit in the grass and dis fruits view, clear I was in summer

  • Turn the channel, it is about 7km walk. The channel in the shape of a cross. At every turn we discover a new perspective. It's really very beautiful. Another advantage is that it is allowed to the dogs leashed. You can rent a bike for the ride. There is also the possibility of him longer small enbarcations.

Where to stay in Versailles

Though you can visit the palace of Versailles on a day trip from Paris, travelers interested in exporing outside the château should consider staying in the town of Versailles, Rambouillet, or Fontainebleau. All three of these boast historical centers and a number of accommodations for visitors, from swanky hotels to short-term apartment rentals. You may want to avoid the other nearby towns, like Senlis, which don't offer any lodging in their old town centers. To put yourself within walking distance of the grand palace, pick a spot along the main avenue in the town of Versailles. When staying here, you can experience first-hand what city planners took into consideration when building this new capital.
