Built in 1648, Versailles' oldest church, Eglise Notre-Dame de Versailles, has rich, Neoclassical architecture. A notable stained-glass lantern in the dome provides sunlight. As you approach, notice how the facade conceals a magnificently balanced nave with classical proportions. Inside, enjoy the sculptural motifs depicting figures and scenes from the New Testament. • I am sure in it's day it was beautiful. I was unable to see the inside. The town really has progressed around tis building because you will find modern buildings very close by this gem.

  • Easy to find and just a couple of minutes walk from the Palace, this church is stunning! Take your time and admire the details that went into this place! It’s worth a visit!

  • It's a beautiful chapel that should be visited when you're visiting the city. It has great paintings and colorful windows. It truly reflect the city's heritage.
  • This was amazing! The stained glass was phenomenal and admiring the collection of artwork could have taken us all day!
  • Built about 1630 by the same architect and same time as the Palace. With some gems in the paintings and sculpture. A big Dame but sight the outside profile and height, an exercise in restraint. Check the Chapel on the left side as you go in.
  • ❤️❤️❤️ my spiritual place
  • A family-friendly church. You see kids strolling around, parents with kids in strollers, while mass remains solemn.
