Cathédrale Saint Louis, Versailles
(3.9/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web)
Built between 1743 and 1754, Cathédrale Saint Louis was first used as the parish church of Saint Louis before becoming the cathedral of the new diocese. During your visit, be sure to check out the lovely collection of period paintings preserved in a graceful baroque style. The architecture is nothing to scoff at either--the building is of the mid-18th century, and the first stone was laid by Louis XV in 1743. • Cathedral in super condition, completely desert when we visited it, allows further information to history.

  • If the Cathedral is not a special interest in its architecture, history pages have registered and is a prelude to the Revolution of 1789 who sees the procession for the opening of the estates-General on May 4 end with a mass in the presence of King Louis XVI. A visit and review your knowledge.
