  • At the center of the place remains the Tower St Martin vestige of a church in the middle ages which, even under the old Regime, was the main church of Vendôme with its Gothic façade. This church was demolished in the middle of the nineteenth century to create a place that is the center of Vendôme. This tower St Martin has long housed the tourist information office. large display with a large clock shows the time at the vendomois and sounds all the quarter hours. from the Abbey of the Trinity when you are faced with this tower on the right you can see a House of the middle ages with its half-timbered houses restored in the medieval style... Initially from the square to the middle is the statue of the Marshal de Rochambeau who was born in Vendôme in 1725 and who helped the Americans in the war of independence against England; to thank for his valuable help in the victory at Yorktown, the Americans offered the statue to the city of Vendôme. A little further a military district that now serves as a parking carries his name: Rochambeau district. The center of Vendome share a guided tour of this city full of history and it is nice to visit.
