The reputation of this Mansion is very exaggerated, and his interest best summed up from the entrance by the cashier: Manor of Renaissance style including a beautiful Dovecote, built with local materials by a french privateer, Jean Ango, who has made a fortune by plundering cargo of English merchant ships. Once you know this, you saw everything and you can visit devoted! The Manor is certainly rehabilitated gradually by its private owners with significant work committed since 2007, and admission tickets are used to fund this work. But it is very far from visit a mansion restored with its period furniture. Instead, in one of the few rooms that was not entirely empty, we saw a library cabinet filled with issues of the magazine of Drouot auction! Built in red brick, the Loft is built using local materials, but I do not see the link with the Italian Renaissance. I must be ignorant and uneducated without knowing... If you push the curiosity to visit the gardens of West and South, you will come across a man-made pond next to which two large type excavator construction vehicles are parked, and on a large meadow in the middle of which is placed a bench, to allow without doubt visitors to commune with the elements of nature... You can also watch from outside a building crumbling body, located opposite the entrance of the mansion, and so protected from the eyes of the onlookers who would try to visit! In short, don't waste your time and go your way. The Manor of Ango does not deserve the detour. Maybe one day when the reclamation work will have enough advanced...View original -

If you are in the neighborhood of Varengille-sur-Mer are a visit to the Castle or manoir D'ango is definitely recommended. The castle was built by Jehan (Jean) built in the company its wealth which d'Ango (and pirate). D'Ango was inspired on the Italian renaissance and there's a nice loggia. The Dovecote (colombier) in the courtyard will definitely be noticed. There are a number of places to be visited during the free visit to the domain. In a place depends on a good brief history of Mr D'Ango and his main collaborators. In another place is in short the history of the building and its use. Afterwards you can walk freely in the domain, and the outside.View original

That leaves big standing outside but inside... A small voice. Prefabricated toilet, which is blocked during the evening. The dance floor part doesn't have the same cachet as the rest of the roomView original
