The largest mountain in the region, Mont Ventoux hosts a section of the Tour de France cycling race. The biological distinctiveness of the mountain was recognized by UNESCO in 1990. The mountaintop is bare limestone, which makes its peak appear from a distance to be snow-capped all year round. There are three routes available for those who wish to climb the mountain. • 1911 meters of glorious climb. One of the best biking venues in the world. Enjoy the ride up - as the ride down is a blur.
  • It's barren and stark at the top. I found the drive a bit harrowing as apparently I have more of a fear of heights than I realized!
  • A magical place to cut the breath... a mythical Summit for cyclists, but not that. .. It's mind-blowing, especially when aircraft the flew over

  • Great mountain, especially if you like cycling. Don't attempt to peddle to the top without proper preparations, because then you're gonna have a bad time.
  • Spectacular cycle climb. I rode up early morning and the noise the bare rocks near the summit make as they warm is so spooky. Naturally the view from the top is amazing - on a clear day one can see to the Alpes.
  • What can I say. It's steep...and you can get great views at the summit.... recommend the coffee in the restaurant. Not a bad price considering its a captive audience!!
  • Awesome climb with bike. A must!
  • We went up by car and spend a couple of minutes on top. A bit boring as the view is not really impressive and there is not much to explore. Would recommend to hike up or use a bike!
