The construction of Le Duche dates back to the Middle Ages. The structures that make up this chateau reflect a number of periods and architectural styles, and most of them have been well-preserved. Architectural styles from the Middle Ages, Renaissance, and the Enlightenment period are all represented. Like most chateaus, it started out as a military installation with stone fortifications to hold off invaders. Look closely, and you will see that the early fortifications were supplemented with more decorative elements as time went on. Outside the building, wander through the courtyards and gardens. It is worth to him only the visit! My advice: focus on the visit Saturday (reduced price) because a little pricey the rest of the week.

Explanation of the guided tour are only in French but at the entrance they delivered two "albums" with detailed description of all and our guide showed us what to read in every room to be able to follow the direction of the visit. In short ... We came out satisfied! After we covered the 135 steps up to the panoramic ... here on this point I would advising against it to little kids! My parents have struggled really (to fall rather than rise). Cost €10 per adult.
Основная достопримечательность городка Uzès – это замок герцогов, в котором одна и та же семья проживает с XVI в. (на самом деле даже раньше, просто в конце XV в. род виконтов d'Uzès прервался по мужс... more »The main attraction of the town is the castle of the Dukes of Uzès, in which one and the same family lives in the 16th century (actually even before, just at the end of the 15th century born d ' Uzès Viscounts faded through the male line, the last representative of the married Baron de Crussol, and then in the 16th century they got the current title of the Dukes of d ' Uzès). Visitors to the Castle run across sessions. In anticipation of your session, you can climb the Tower, with panoramic views of the city. In the architecture of the castle complete mixing of eras and styles: walls and donjon Tower you can climb, belong to the XI-XII centuries, Gothic Chapel, the main residential part of the Palace is a French Renaissance reminded me the castle in Blois. Excursion into the inner chambers of the castle is conducted in French, English-speaking citizens shall issue a printout with a description of the halls. In principle, the interiors of the castle is pretty ordinary, but almost all the walls are hung with portraits of the family, starting with the 16th century, which then replace photos. As it turned out, in France it's fairly well-known family de Crussol d ' Uzès-but the truth is that in the history of the more famous for their ladies: Louise de Clermont, wife of Antoine de Krjussol, who on the eve of the Varflomeevskoj night quickly adopted Catholicism, was a friend of Queen Catherine de Medici and the governess of the future King Charles IX and the Duchess Anna d ' Uzès (which had succeeded in including the vineyards of Veuve Clicquot) in 1899, the first woman in France received a driver's license. Tickets cost 18 euros, and on Saturday is 10 euros. Generally in Uzès better and go in Saturday, because there's still a market. In General, if you are not very interested in the history, the castle can not go, but here is the town itself, with well-preserved medieval Uzes part I would have to visit recommended unequivocally.
