  • This section of the river had a rich history in the development of early life in Toulouse, the story has been summarised in a number of pretty pictoboards erected in the newly refurbished Quai de la D...  more »
  • A walk was designed on this platform of the Garonne, bordered by the school of fine arts, around the Pont Neuf: view of the Hôtel-Dieu and the dome of the hospice of la Grave (district Saint-Cyprien, beyond the river) and on the ancient bridge linking the two banks of the Garonne. Very nice place, view panoramic of the Garonne, the docks, the pont neuf, a park, restaurants, the dome of the Chapel St Joseph. On the walls, there are holes, where strings are attached. In the face of large floods and violence of the Garonne, the boats of the fishermen and the boats sinks, present on the docks until 1950 or so, were attached to prevent them from being washed away.
