Cite de l'Espace, Toulouse

(3.7/5 based on 1,600+ reviews on the web)
A theme park focused on space and our conquests in it, Cite de l'Espace is an immensely popular museum filled with interactive exhibits for the whole family. Children and space enthusiasts enjoy the full-scale models, including the 55 m (180 ft) Ariane 5 rocket, the Mir space station, and the Soyuz modules. A control room mock-up allows you to prepare a rocket for launch, assisting with its flight plan and then placing a satellite into orbit. Be sure to visit the Australia building, with its 300-seat IMAX cinema and a 280-seat planetarium equipped with a hemispherical 600 sq m (6,458 sq ft) screen. Put Cite de l'Espace into our Toulouse trip itinerary planner and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • Great time with my son a passion for astronomy (just like me!). It takes good day to go around, knowing that there was almost nobody because end of school holidays and rainy weather which no or little waiting to attractions (except for walking on the Moon). All subjects are covered: travel space with including the visit of a Soyuz capsule and MIR (and not ISS as discussed below), the solar system, exoplanets etc. Too short in the view of my son who would have loved to spend several more hours (passion, it is not!) 2 restaurants, one was reserved for a seminar. I was afraid on time waiting on the 2nd, but within 10 minutes, we were at the table. Reasonable prices. Easy access, free parking.

  • A nice place to visit with family or with friends. Great exhibitions on space and regular events during the week with researchers, engineers, space fans... A good experience for locals and tourists.
  • Nice exhibition of the history of aircraft industry. A great way spend half your day if interested in aircrafts.
  • You can see the Ariane rockrt and a Soyuz spacecraft on display.
  • Great experience for the whole family!!! It's a great way to learn all about space and space travel.
  • A great visit for young and adult. As an engineer I really loved it.
