  • Mayol stadium is atypical and a legend, because in the heart deToulon. It is a unique example, in France, also near the city center stage. It has a strategic position, near the Besagne district, major provider of players of the RCT, and scope of drop, of course Lafayette and cafes of the port, where the fans meet and discuss abundance. Mayol, is one of the "mythical" of french rugby stadiums. Lair of rugby and the "minots of the harbour", it takes its name from the lead singer of the beginning of the 20th century, Félix Mayol, who offered the land and the rights to his songs, rugby club Toulon in order to pay the facilities because, as he explained in his memoirs. "To Toulon, where the youth is especially active and vigorous, we had not the slightest usable field. Only remained a velodrome disused, where nobody would ever, which was more useless and who seemed bored as much as our aspiring sportsmen. My God, it was so simple then I bought the old velodrome! I gave myself the first Pickaxe blow. The players promised to overcome to show me their gratitude". It is now the property of the city of Toulon. It hosts the games of the Rugby club Toulon (RCT). It was inaugurated on March 28, 1920. Its current capacity is 18200 places and 37 lodges. The red and black, are the emblematic colors of the RCT, since 1908. The lily of the Valley, is in honor of Félix MAYOL, who wore it to the lapel of his jacket. He considered a good luck charm, since her Parisian friend handed him a bouquet of lily of the Valley, his first night in Paris, which has been successful. In 1921, Lily of the Valley of the sponsor-patron, Felix, will become the emblem of the RCT. This luck always brings good luck to the RCT.

  • Great atmosphere , but the stand and surround could be improved , toilets are a disgrace for a top level rugby club. However the crowd are very friendly and because its a relatively small stadium you always get a great view of the game.
  • Rct....top.
  • As a stadium its a bit run down , but you wont be disappointed with the atmosphere
  • Pilou pilou
