Musee National de la Marine, Toulon
Categories: Specialty Museums, Museums
The town of Toulon has a famous maritime museum, Musee National de la Marine . It is an extremely visited and liked museum of France. The collection at the museum dates back to Louis XV of France. The entry fee of the museum is quite nominal and the tour information is very good. It is located at the end of the wharf near the naval base. The audio guide explains the role of the port of Toulon in the navy. The paintings of the port, which are displayed in the museum, are exceptionally fine and captivating. To visit each point of the museum and to see every item on display takes a total of around one hour twenty minutes, which is not very much when you want to have a nice time. Awesome museum! We were on a cruise, and it was very easy to get to. So interesting, and had audio tours in many languages. We had a blast, even though we were pretty exhausted.
Great little maritime museum with rich history. They have a couple of huge models of ships that were used for training purposes back in the day. Lots to see!

Christophe aquadroAudio guide much appreciated but the visit lacks a bit of playful attraction, Museum of Genes is much more attractive. The part on the scuttling of the fleet in 1942 would have more value.show original
