  • It's being rebuilt. You can't access it. Mount Faron still worth going up. Is that 100 characters now?  more »
  • Great museum and well worth a visit even if you aren't into militaria. The information on the Allied landings in the South of France is fascinating  more »

  • Musée Mémorial du Débarquement is a small, but very good exhibition inside a fine World War II hill top fortress above Toulon. The views from the fortress are worth the visit alone. The most charming way to get there is to take the cable car from Boulevard Amiral Jean Vence in Toulon (lat lon 43.137334, 5.934525). On the other hand a drive up there would of course be spectacular in itself. The military exhibition covers the history of the landing of the allied forces. The upper station of the cable car is just below the fortress. There is also a zoo nearby and many other things to see.
  • Finally recognition for the landings in the South of France at the height of a museum. We are not in the region but had a very great pleasure to discover the history of the majority French landings. We were staying with family and have particularly appreciated the visit guided and commented by (the guide named Didier seems to us?) makes more than his work. It was very touching and this museum is worth visiting family for the respect and not forget history. It'll be everything many times although in the future we can find a point of sale of products at the exit, derivatives (in reproduction of course) at this time. This can help the operation and people like us who are seeking. Signed; 3 women who do not intend to change. :-) Still a very very big thank you to the team who is very welcoming.
