  • Free parked on Place du Colonel Berrurier and small walk to this church, close to the Castle and statue of "La Tarasque". Free visited in framework "Jours du Patrimoine". Beautiful church with beautiful crypt with Tomb of Ste Marthe. Ranking organ, fine paintings and copy of the Golden reliquary-bust of Ste Marthe donated by French King Louis XI

  • Came across the reference to this church in planning for our trip. We found it at the website "Catholic Shrines in France." So glad we included a visit on our trip. The church itself is remarkably wel...  more »
  • The Church is composite and the centuries, styles, jostling, interpenetrate. The southern portal of the XII is surmounted a false characteristic Gallery, and when you enter the building, the superposition of the lower church, the large crypt, and the nave of the Church illustrates well the superimposition of architectural achievements that have occurred over the centuries. The presence of paintings by masters of the XVII and XVIII S., and exceptional buffet of the organ, or even the altar based on a sarcophagus of the 3rd century make this unique Basilica. Down to the crypt, notice left hand what seems to be an absolutely splendid early Christian altar.
