Baroness Béatrice de Rothschild constructed Villa & Jardins Ephrussi de Rothschild between 1905 and 1912. Each of the villa's nine lush gardens has a unique theme: Florentine, Spanish, French, exotic, a stone garden, Japanese, rose, Provençal, and a garden de Sèvres. Formed under the direction of landscape architect Achille Duchêne, the gardens form the shape of a ship, meant to be viewed from the terrace of the house. The shape was inspired by the architect's voyage on the liner Île de France. The original gardeners were dressed as sailors, wearing berets with red pom-poms. • Once upon a time, an unnecessarily rich Rothschild daughter married a much older and equally unnecessarily rich banker called Ephrussi, who pre-deceased her by many years. So after 1905 she spent some...  read more »
  • About Villa Rothschild written and detailed in all guidebooks around the world. Unfortunately, many tourists are limited only by her visit. But believe me, Cap Ferrat peninsula itself is very interesting and many-sided.. I advise you to go down to the port is 10 minutes walking step away. Enjoy a coffee in the charming barčikah or enjoy wonderful fish dishes in the restaurants of the city. And then the most unforgettable-a walk on the "trail" around the peninsula to the Black Madonna (Madonna have amazing izvoânie great tiny Sabor). Species are replaced every 10 meters. With a wonderful view of the peninsula of Beaulieu-lure-Mer, port, Eze, Principality of Monaco. But the important thing is that this walk you will get such oxygen in our wounded megacities light and positive emotions for the brain and the soul that will want to return to those places already on the way home.

  • With little more than 10 € per person you can visit one of the most sumptuous Villas on the French Riviera. Outside the grounds are impeccable while internally through the audio-guide included you can relive the story of the time with interesting and detailed explanations. On a nice sunny day the colors of the flowers, the sound of the fountains and water features make it magical. To visit well it takes a couple of hours or so.

  • Probably the most beautiful spot in french Riviera. A must - see. Gorgeous views of the Mediterranean, stunning gardens and dancing fountains. Interesting museum inside as well.
  • The garden was really nice and beautiful and the view was nice, but in any case the view from the road above is better and the villa inside is just OK, nothing really impresssive. I believe it is a bit overpriced (at least the parking is for free) and thay there are better activities to do in the area
  • Beautiful villa and gardens. Free wifi (great for accessing Uber app).
  • A definite must see, best views of the peninsula, immaculate gardens and the fountain show is wonderfully blended with the classical music
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Gardens were wonderful, not so large as to be exhausting, decent "tea room" I would recommend
