Domaine de Mourchon, Seguret
(4.6/5 based on 55+ reviews on the web)
A solitary valley set in southern France, Domaine de Mourchon is today known worldwide for its excellent wine. Domaine de Mourchon came into the ownership of the McKinlay family in the year 1998. Totally, there were about twenty hectares (almost fifty acres) of vines in their vineyard, and yet no way of harnessing this to make wine. A modern, high – tech winery was finally created in the year 2000. This, together with the perfect climate, clay and limestone geology brings some of the greatest wine to be made. • The place is wonderful, wines a real wonder, maybe the girl attending us must learn to establish a dialogue from a more positive point of view, despite their expertise, the treatment was a tad dry. Anyway, we tried a lot of wines, and all with a very satisfactory result. Prices according to quality

  • In a month in Provence this was the best winery visit experience. First because they have great wine, which we bought, and second because Walter did such a great job of sampling the wine for us. This ...  more »
  • We had a short overnight stay in Vaison la Romaine (at Hostellerie Beffroi) and only had time to visit one winery so we took Rick Steves' suggestion and so glad we did. We arrived right as they opened...  more »

  • On vacation in France and wanted to visit a winery or two. Not easy to find but worth the trip. Walter knows his wine a terroir, explaining about the culture of Mourchon. Their wines are fabulous and have recently received high accolades. Bout a case to be delivered home. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
  • Awesome place. On vacation...very helpful and cool.environment. Oh yah...the wine is awesome too. Worth the "Gauntlet" of a drive up a scary mountain.
  • Walter and Hugo were absolutely fantastic- this is highly recommended deviation - you must visit- no question
