  • We went there this summer: visit a fossil Museum, info and games (search for repro of fossils in large bins of sand) for children to learn about different fossils found more often then direction the forest to see the fossils in the geological nature reserve: impressive to see that a few kilometres from us! It is possible to only see fossils, but I recommend the Grand Tour for a 1st time: very nice guide, explains well, also adapts to children. It is managed by an Association (contact: home of the reserve at Boston), then in addition we're happy when we're paying because it helps a bit (you can also give a little more if you can;)) ... I also advise schools, from CP; Gentlemen and ladies of the schools teachers, do not hesitate: the child will love see huge fossilized teeth of Megalodon :)! Last advice: summer, don't forget the anti mosquito!

  • Early July 2016, my son myself and teenager were greeted by an expert guide-lecturer in geology. Nobody as passionate invested, she knew popularize this science in a fun way, by teaching activities within the House of site (which includes a nice collection of...) (go see but worth the trip!) and an exciting field trip. Far from scientific and incomprehensible jargon imagined by most of the people, this is for everyone, young and old, neophytes, enlightened amateurs or for experts... The rate of 4 to 5 euros per person is not deterrent to further any general knowledge in this exciting field that immerses the visitor in eons where Aquitaine was largely covered by the ocean... A good point also: prospects in our region in connection with global warming... ask the guide who will be happy to provide you with answers... with ease! Who said that the geology and botany were boring? In any case, this isn't the reserve natural and geological of Boston! Thanks to these enthusiasts who know how to pass on their knowledge to the collective memory, despite the lack of resources allocated, it must be said, local elected representatives... An activity which deserves, in my opinion, both on that tourist educational plans, to be developed into the largest number! Laurence A. and Yann R.

  • A few kilometres from Bordeaux, we were guided in this geological reservation. It was very interesting for us adults but also for children. It must pass through their small museum before, there is a fine collection of fossils found on different sites of the reserve. The staff of the reserve is great available and adapts to the age of the public. Bravo to do and redo
