Santa Giulia Beach, Santa Giulia

3.6
#2 of 183 in Outdoors in Corse-du-Sud
With pearly white powder-soft sands and an aquamarine sea, Santa Giulia Beach is sure to take your breath away. The large lagoon-style sea is quite calm and shallow, allowing you to wade out to the small reef areas. The dazzling colors alone are amplified by the surrounding mountains and pines tree forests. As dazzling as any Caribbean beach, this is a paradise for water sport enthusiasts too. You can paddle a kayak in the knee-deep water, or hire a snorkeling guide to bring you out to the reef at the south side of the crescent.

As an ideal beach for small children, this area gets quite crowded so it's a good idea to arrive early for a prime spot. In the center of the beach is a bar restaurant with plenty of shade; a quieter bar is located on the northern end of the beach. • One of the most beautiful beaches you can visit during our vacation in Corsica in August. Clear water better than in a pool. Advice, especially in August, to move soon to visit, the beach is small is flocking in a short time.

  • easy to get into the water BUT so many people we were sitting on each others towels almost. Wind so we had to go behind in the field to find stones to stop everything blowing away.  more »
  • The beach of Santa Ghjulia(ste Julie) to the South of Porto Vecchio direction Bonifacio pass a place called Precoghju and turn left into the straight line is one of the most beautiful beaches in the area. This is maybe not for nothing that many artists come and Christophe Maé and Julien Doré there have turned their clip. Very fine sand, a sea as in the Caribbean, the famous pier, the small rocks to the right and the restaurant of beaches. Note that if you you deplaceer on the left of the beach, after 10 minutes walk you will find great restaurants like the Santa Marina.Le only small downside is that often there is algae (Posidonia more exactly) and this can go back to Some people, but persevere and season swim in this water of unrivaled purity. Of course you are not alone and prefer to go the morning best time for swimming.

  • The beach is beautiful. However, in midsummer there are way too many people. Obviously because of the heatwave in 2017. Nevertheless I would prefer a less crowded beach.
  • Watch out! This beach is currently covered with THE MOST smelly seaweed. There are parts you can't even cross as it is so bad. I was amazed that for such an important attraction for Corsica that nothing was being done about it. Then I spotted one little digger looking very ineffectual. I rented a house nearby as I heard the beach was so good but I am not going back. Very disappointed.
  • Awesome shallow beach... restaurants weren’t open when we visited on December 30th
  • Beautiful place but if you don't get there very early you will only see people... crowded
  • Nice white sandy beach with blue sea. Snorkeling is nice with some rocks to explore in the sea 100 meters from the coast. The only issue was the abundance of sea weed on the beach and in the sea.
