Santa Giulia Beach, Santa Giulia

3.5
#2 of 182 in Outdoors in Corse-du-Sud
With pearly white powder-soft sands and an aquamarine sea, Santa Giulia Beach is sure to take your breath away. The large lagoon-style sea is quite calm and shallow, allowing you to wade out to the small reef areas. The dazzling colors alone are amplified by the surrounding mountains and pines tree forests. As dazzling as any Caribbean beach, this is a paradise for water sport enthusiasts too. You can paddle a kayak in the knee-deep water, or hire a snorkeling guide to bring you out to the reef at the south side of the crescent.

As an ideal beach for small children, this area gets quite crowded so it's a good idea to arrive early for a prime spot. In the center of the beach is a bar restaurant with plenty of shade; a quieter bar is located on the northern end of the beach. • A beautiful paradise place, walking to the end of the beach and you come in an almost uninhabited area where only boats in the lagoon.

  • Obligatory passage for those who want to see a dream beach. Clear water and excellent temperature. Maybe a little too touristy...

  • I loved this beach in 1994 and 1997. Its fine white sand and its water limpid and blue were magical, because it was clean and still surrounded by the almost wild scrubland of Corsica. I saw it in September and I was very disappointed to see that the Bay and beach were full of algae and that developers had built so many things around. I don't me are even not bathed, so the algae were abundant. What a pity!

  • Beautiful place but if you don't get there very early you will only see people... crowded
  • Watch out! This beach is currently covered with THE MOST smelly seaweed. There are parts you can't even cross as it is so bad. I was amazed that for such an important attraction for Corsica that nothing was being done about it. Then I spotted one little digger looking very ineffectual. I rented a house nearby as I heard the beach was so good but I am not going back. Very disappointed.
  • Nice white sandy beach with blue sea. Snorkeling is nice with some rocks to explore in the sea 100 meters from the coast. The only issue was the abundance of sea weed on the beach and in the sea.
  • Beautiful beach with limited people in October (might be too busy in Summer with so many parking slots)
  • Beautiful beach but, a lot of tourists there. The problem in summer is that if you go at the end of summer, water isn't clean enough to enjoy it, so go in July or first week of august.
