  • The Arch of Germanicus is a building which is made of local stone and who still keeps a personable in edge of Charente despite his age. Two thousand years of history at Saintes and... it is still there! What for? It is political will that will be spared him and of course it is the only monument that really reminds the splendor of the city in the first century. Holy had to be loaded at the time gallo-Roman. It's worth to visit majestic massif, who watches over the entrance to the old town.

  • The CRA been moved from its initial position, which was at the entrance of the city right bank on the main deck. It is part of the monuments to see a holy.

  • A beautiful monument that (it shows close) has been disassembled and reassembled in a place that no longer has anything to do with its original environment. So yes it is interesting to see this Roman remnant for our culture, but it seems "shed" on this empty place, facing the river.

  • We had an enjoyable day exploring Saintes & the arch of Germanicus was awesome to view. Well worth a visit.
  • Germanicus (the triumphal arch) of Holy arc, on the edges of the Charentes and with many inscriptions (in latin). Free and open every day, 24/24 monument then it arises "in the street". One of the remains of the Roman city of Saintes must-see during your stay in Saintes.

  • The location is surprising, but with the banks of the Charente River that has its charm.
