  • A really emotive site, hardly changed over 70 years with excellent information boards showing the site and the battlefield in 1944. A must see when in St Marie Eglise.  more »
  • Since the excellent series "band of brothers", history of paratroopers in Normandy June 6 boils down to some to the 101st Airborne. But the same night, the paratroopers of the 82nd Airborne US also jumped on the Cotentin peninsula, and one of their mission was to hold the bridge of proud to prevent German reinforcements up to the beaches. And it is here that they covered themselves with glory. Beautiful and now "peaceful" website, the small bridge which spans the river and the adjacent Manor are superb. Leave the parking to foot direction Holy Mother and a hundred meter see the foxhole on the right side of the road. It has a history...
