  • We were spending a week visiting all the Normandy landing beaches, this museum was on our second full day. The town is nice, and although you pay for parking it's not expensive (EUR2 for the whole day...  more »
  • If you must make a ' Museum 39/45 war, this is it. Didactics and with an excellent staging it includes everything there is to see about this major event in the history of france and the United States. Many artifacts of all sizes, from the simple gun to the true glider. The latter is kept in immaculate condition. The access price is decent. Much more than the memorial in Caen on which one can easily make the impasse.

  • Excellent exhibition and worth a detour to visit along with the town. The exhibit giving an idea of what it would have been like to have made the jump, is a particular highlight. Went with our 4yr old who had enough to enjoy, but more suited to children a little older.
  • Compared to many of the other museums in the area (which are not bad, but often small and without a real subject) this one is really great. Would recomend to visit it !!!
  • This is one the best museums in the area. What made it special for me is that there is alot of historical artifacts however they are displayed in a simple and not overwhelming way if you know what I mean. This museum is a must-see if you're driving up or down the Cotentin!
  • The Visit to Sainte Mere Eglise was exceptional. The museum was full of well presented information and items from the 82nd and 101st Airborne (101st is what Bandbox of Brothers is based on, a great mini series). The town it's self was cute and small filled with great WW2 antiquities and souvenirs shops. It has good places to eat with a strong American theme and there are American jeeps still driving around the town and the region. If you are planning to visit over the next few days you will run into many currently serving US paratroopers that will be partaking in a range of ceremonies including a reenactment of the WW2 paratroopers drops over Normandy on May the 4the 2017. I'm sure there are event like this around the D-day anniversary every year try and plan your day here some time leading up to June 6th.
  • Large amount of things and the displays are amazing.
