  • It is the first time we visited a museum about the landing of Longère of World War 2. The place has several pavilions with recreations of dummies, objects, films and original sounds of war. You should visit it to see about the atrocity. Is in the village which was made famous in a film by becoming an American paratrooper attached to the Tower of its church.

  • We visited this museum as part of a shore excursion from Cherbourg France. This museum provides excellent coverage of American airborne part for the D-Day battles. There is an excellent movie that cov...  more »
  • This museum has to be experienced. Fantastic experience to see the gliders, and go inside a Dacota flies with audio on. Main experience of museums in Normandy.

  • You got to see this museum to understand the D_Day landings. Brave paratroopers landed with nothing more than a rifle and ammo in the middle of the night in unknown territory. It tells the story of those brave guys. Also see the paratrooper doll still hanging on the churchtower. Though hanging on the wrong side, but that was for the movie 'The longest day' a better place. Nice to know that....
  • Experience the Airborne arrival in the immersive museum. They have a section of the museum that makes you feel like you are in the plane arriving over Normandy and then viewing the countryside from above at night as all the paratroopers are descending.
  • Lots of information and intact equipment about the airborn forces that will give you the feeling of how it was back in ww2. Defenitly worthwhile to check it out if you want to know and see more about the history of the droppings behind enemy lines!
  • Fantastic museum. I didn't even have this on my radar before coming to France. It was recommended by locals and what a great find!
  • Excellent exhibition and worth a detour to visit along with the town. The exhibit giving an idea of what it would have been like to have made the jump, is a particular highlight. Went with our 4yr old who had enough to enjoy, but more suited to children a little older.
