Gape at the size of Grotte de La Verna, a capacious 4 hectare (12 acre) cavern in one of the largest cave systems in the world, extending 250 m (820 ft) wide and 190 m (623 ft) high. It's part of the Pierre Saint-Martin massif, which features 2,000 chasms--including a dozen or so reputed to be among the largest in the world. The site also features 380 km (236 mi) of underground explored cave systems and 13 major rivers. Today you can take a guided tour or hike into the world's tenth-largest cavern on your own via an access tunnel made for an underground hydroelectric plant. Dress warmly, as temperatures are cool underground. La visita sencilla esta totalme... more »Highly recommended visit to this cave. Provides a service to upload but quickly filled with what advanced with our car along a track quite well cared for. The simple visit this totally adapted and can be done in a wheelchair without problems. Very good guide that explains pretty well logically in French but also in Spanish and English. Impressive size of the cavity. The immensity of size is not detectable in such darkness and with dolls or the zeppelin which is inside the cave you get a small idea. Highly recommended and quite unknown so it you should give wider dissemination. Perhaps the rather high price for the duration of the cave. But as France already know that such activities are not cheap
