  • This is a place that is really worth: to enjoy it at its fair value, essential to follow a guided tour, otherwise several places are inaccessible, including the cloister. The framework is pretty bucolic, the Conventual buildings have an interest limited, however the cloister (14th - 16th c.) is worth: it allows to admire the beautiful our Lady of Fontenelle and the sink of the 16th c. interesting also the ruins of the old Abbey. We are surprised by the modern Church: an old barn transferred here in 1970: superb; as a bonus, a burial in the tomb of 1506 and an organ of first quality (ruins and Church are free visit).

  • Due to the delay in our guide the visit began with 10 good minutes late. Therefore the monk dealing with the visitor takes care of us. The latter explains well and knows his subject. The guide comes and take over. Unfortunately for us we quickly notes that the young woman struggled to express themselves and it absolutely does not have the history of the Abbey. The young woman looks trimmed with good intentions but it is true that she is sorely lacking knowledge of the site. After the visit we were the priest for him explaining that the visit was not well conducted, and that the guide was not top and against all odds he seemed up-to-date without for as much worry about the proper conduct of the visits. He said "ah... of... agreements ' to all our remarks without so far provide us with further explanation. On the contrary, it has clearly said the € 4 price was only the entrance to the cloister and not visit that suggests that the reviews are really the least of those worries. That said, the Abbey is very pretty. Small problem: there is no explanatory signs or documentation or plan. So I suggest this self-guided tour for the sympathy of the places but nothing more. We come out of this visit with sub and less and no knowledge.

  • Magnifique endroit, occupé par une communauté monastique silencieuse. Ne pas manquer la boutique de l'abbaye avec une sélection de produits monastiques dont la bière de l'abbaye !
  • An amazing place, full of history, wonderful buildings, great traditions!
  • Beautiful. Peaceful. All masses are in Latin.
  • Very pretty Abbey however the visit is paid and guided with fixed schedules. A part of the exterior and the chapel are however available for free. The monk has the reception however was not very friendly. The shop is still relatively expensive and the beer they sell (brewed by the monks of the Abbey) is not bad (attention even when it is a dark beer).

  • In a bucolic Valley, the ruins of the Abbey are a lovely place for a walk. The guided tour (by monks) is exciting. At the end of the visit, you can buy in the shop of the Abbey, among other things, the beer brewed by monks (the only Trappist beer in the french territory brewed by monks)
